When the world is cold and dark,
And shadows fill your mind,
Do you ever wonder
At the agelessness of time?
Momentary, fleeting fragments,
Added each to one,
Forming "life" ... a path to follow,
'Til our time is done?
Transitory illustrations,
Etched in circumstance;
Do you ever wonder
At their true significance?
Microscopic moments,
Blending in totality,
Unified in fluid threads,
To shape eternity.
Mere illusions; happenstance,
Together, tied and bound;
Do you ever wonder
At the path that you have found?
All combined; theatrical,
A story brought to life,
Whereupon the script is played,
To curtain calls each night.
No rehearsals; ever live,
Performing endlessly;
Do you ever wonder
At the sheer reality?
Seconds meld in to the next,
Collectively, they breed,
Propagating unbeknownst,
With vigor, rapidly.
Time is fleeting, waste it not,
A gift in short supply;
Tragic, should we wonder
If a moment passed us by.
