Sweet heavens, please let loose my heart,
Remove the pain I wish to part;
I beg you for a moment’s peace,
And pray that I might find release.
‘Twas oh so very long ago,
And yet, the mem’ries overflow;
They dwell within the depths of me,
Surrounding all I’ve come to be.
‘Tis often that I reminisce,
Return to all that I have missed;
But low, the cries within remain,
To drown in sorrow’s sweet refrain.
Entombed in time, I live the past,
And question that which did not last;
I ask you for one final time,
Remove the casement of my mind.
Take hold the remnants pondered there,
Transform the thoughts that I despair;
Make whole my life, that I might see …
The beauty in reality.
