With Love on Father's Day
How difficult it is to describe the many traits you have dad;
The many qualities that I have admired in you;
The strength that I have respected;
The love, devotion and loyalty we have all known.
I am grateful that I know your gentle side;
The part of you that told me I was special;
The father who quieted my fears;
The example who taught me what life and love was about.
Throughout my life, from my earliest memories,
I watched you strive to establish a rewarding life in all aspects:
Through your schooling, your work, and even your hobbies,
You displayed your strength, your drive and your determination.
You showed me a balance in life that I strive for:
You instilled in me, the knowledge that although life has its rewards,
You must work hard for them
In order to appreciate what life has to offer.
I learned from you, never to give up;
To appreciate the obstacles;
To set achievable goals and work hard to find solutions.
Thank you for teaching me what to look for and expect from life;
Thank you for all your love and your lessons;
