To Mom And Dad On Valentine's Day

I was blessed when I was born for never could I choose,
A better combination than God chose for me in you;
Two finer parents - loving - wise, could never be sought out,
To match the ones I have in you, for never do I doubt ...

The love you send by written word, by voice or telephone,
In person or across the miles - it always feels like home;
For home is where the heart is and my heart will always find,
Regardless of the distance, you are always on my mind.

In times of fear, I still reach out to touch a loving ear,
And never do you fail me, for always you are near,
To soothe my fears, to calm the tide, to pat me on the back,
To give me just a little nudge to get me back on track.

You mend my broken fences and you ease my worried mind,
For with the love you’ve given me, it's peace and strength I find;
I love you more than words can say, though try I always will,
Just know that with each word I write ... my thoughts are deeper still.
